Halloween 2011

The girls carved pumpkins a couple of day before Halloween. They had a really good time. Getting all slimy and messy.

This year for Halloween the older girls wanted to be something scary. Emilie wanted to be a werewolf and McKenzie didn't really know what she wanted to be. All she knew is she wanted to try to scare her dad. Since her dad is sacred of clowns she found a really scary clown costume and that is what she decided she wanted to be. After we picked out the older girls costumes I asked Kris where all of our little princess went. He just laughed, so I said well at least I have one more that I can make a princess or something a little more girly. It was with this in mind that I decided that Lexi would be Smurfet. I don't think that she really like the hat, but I was able to get a few pictures of her with it on.

Alexis's First Birthday!!

Lexi turned one today Oct. 31st 2011. We had cake and ice cream and opened presents the day before. She got lots of cool toys and really liked her cake.

Disneyland Oct.. 2011

This year for our vacation we went to Disney Land. Grandma and Grandpa Dickson, and Rushell, Jeff and the boys also came out. We all had a great time. We didn't tell the girls that we were going to go. They thought that we were going to Las Vegas. When we got to Vegas we finally told them that we were not staying and that we were going to go to Disney Land. McKenzie said "Can't we just stay here." Emilie said "I am tired I was looking forward to taking a nap at the hotel." Needless to say they were not that excited until we said that there is a pool at the house that we are staying at and they can swim all they want. Here are some pics. There are also some pictures at the Natural History Museum. That is where we went on one of the days that it rained all day.

Back to school 2011

Emilie and McKenzie's first day of School 2011. Emilie started the 6th grade in the Junior High School and McKenzie started the 3rd grade at Kings Peak Elementary.

Summer 2011

The girls had lots of fun this summer. they attended a dance clinic that the high school Cougarette dance team put on. They were able to preform in a show at the UBIC ( a celebration that we have every year). Both Emilie and McKenzie preformed really well.

My mom and dad were the Grand Marshals for the UBIC. We all pitched in and build the float that they rode on, which was also the float for the store.

McKenzie didn't want to ride the Cougarette float, so she rode on my parents float instead. You can barley see her raising her hand.

Emilie rode on the Cougarette float with all the dance teams. Although here she is walking next to it.

Emilie was also in a Play of The Pied Piper. She was one of the village children that was led away by the piper. She had so much fun. Her and McKenzie participated in a lot of acting classes that week, but we were unable to get pictures of all the workshops they did.-

Birthday's 2011

This year McKenzie turned 8 and was baptized. We are very proud of her and the decisions that she is making. Grandma and Grandpa Dickson came for the week. The girls enjoyed being with them.

Emile gave the talk on Baptism and Big G gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. Both talks were awesome and very inspiring.

She got to have a sleepover with a few of her friends from school. They had a great time, although they stayed up almost all night.

Emilie turned 11 a few days after McKenzie's birthday. Emilie is growing so fast. She is just finishing the 5th grade and will be going to the Jr. High for 6th grade this next school year.

As of April Alexis is 5 months old and has two teeth already. She is rolling over and trying to crawl. she will get up on her hand and knees and rock back and forth until she falls on her stomach. She had been the perfect addition to our little family.

When we were in Forks last year McKenzie pick out this onesie for her. Now Kenzie has someone else to be team Jacob.

Halloween

Halloween has come and gone and there were a few exciting things happened that weekend. The girls went trick or treating and they were the Corpse Bride and a Spider Witch. Also we are proud to announce the addition of our new little girl Alexis Ann Dickson. She was born on Oct. 31 @ 3:45pm. She was 7lb 7oz and 19in long. The girls love her and just cant stop smothering her every chance they get.

Today in Seattle

We started our day in Seattle going on the Duck tours! This is a tour that goes all around Seattle and into Lake Washington, with these really cool quakers and lots of fun.

Next we were off to the Seattle Center with the Space Needle and fountain.

The Experience Music Project and SciFi Museum were our next stop. A really rich guy here in Seattle, named Paul Allen, built this museum because he liked Jimmy Hendricks and SciFi movies. It is a cool place.

It happens to be Sea Fair Week in Seattle and so we had the Blue Angles flying group flying over us all day long.

Tigers, bears, no lions, Oh MY!

We were off to the Point Defiance Zoo today. Kris and McKenzie were chosen to participate in a fun little game at the beginning of the Wild Animal show. McKenzie's team won of course since it was the kids against the adults. Plus they got to wear these funny hats.

Here is McKenzie with the male Sumatra Tiger. There are 2 of these tigers here at the zoo. There are only 330 Sumatra Tigers in the world. This pair of tigers have just had cubs, so now there are 4 Sumatra tigers at the Point Defiance zoo.

We also saw this Polar Bear. It was sunning itself in the hot Washington sun. There are 2 polar bears here at the zoo.

Both of the girls got to feed the birds. There was bird seed on the end of the stick. You hold out the stick and the birds fly down and land on the stick. They then eat it off of the stick. It was very fun.

There is a very large and very old walrus here at the zoo. We discovered that walrus are very stinky animals but they are very very large!

We rode on this really fun carrousel. We rode it about 4 times. We also rode on a camel!

Another day ending with our feet in the water of the Puget Sound.

Off to Seattle

We start our trip even before we left, we set up a lemonade stand at Grandpa Stewarts store to earn money for our trip. We did pretty well and should be able to get some really cool souvenirs from Forks when we get to Washington!

We made it to Forks! We just know that Edward and Jacob are waiting for us.

Bella was waiting by her car for us.

Bella wasn't at home, she was visiting her mother in Florida this week.

Charlie was busy with Police work but we got to stand by his car.

We then went to see if Edward was at home but found a note that said that Edward was of course with Bella and the rest of the Cullens were in Alaska visiting friends. Oh well maybe next time.
Next we were off to LaPush to see if we could find Jacob.

Here is where the indian reservation starts, it is also the treaty line between the wolves and the vampires.

No Edward past this point.

The Pacific Ocean at last. No Jacob to be found but we did have fun playing in the ocean.

We also went to Grandpa Christensen's funeral in Pocatello. It was sad and we will miss him but we know that he is in a better place and that we will see him again. Here are some pictures of the girls.

We headed to Sunvally Idaho this year for summer vacation we all had lots of fun hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa D by pool. The kids all so started school as soon as we got back and are really excited to see all there friends and teachers again. Along with school they all so started soccer which they both are extremly enjoying.

The Family and Karate

The Girls have started Karate a month ago and are loving it. Emilie has gained her yellow belt and McKenzie will test soon for hers. It has been a good experience for the both of them meeting new friends and gaining allot of self confidence in themselves. They have enjoyed it so much that Julie has decided she is going to pick it back up again taking me allong with her. She was in Karate as a kid and mad it to her 2nd green belt before ending. Now she is continuing on starting where she left off with a few refresher classes. Me I will continue with her as soon as my shoulder heals from surgery.

Christmas with the Dickson's in Utah

I realize that I haven't been keeping this blog very current so I will start at Christmas and hopefully catch things up soon. This of course is the girls, Emilie and McKenzie at Christmas with Santa and Mrs. Claus. We had a wonderful Christmas, with everyone getting even more than they wished for.

McKenzie performed with her Head Start Class for all of the parents.
Emilie performed with a music group that she is in. They were both wonderful. Look for some video coming soon.

Mekenzie Marie was born April 1, 2004. She also came a little early but not as early as Emilie so she did not have to stay in the hospital. She went on her first airplane ride when she was only 1month old to Seattle because her Aunt Rushell was getting married and she did not want to miss that! Kenzie also likes to play soccer and is in the Head Start program in school so she is learning to spell and write her name and to read. She really would like to be just as big as Emilie.

Emilie Ryan was born April 12, 2000. She was a little early and needed to stay in the hospital for a few weeks to grow some more. As you can see, she is now almost 8 and is quite healthy and happy. She loves to play soccer, she loves school and she loves being a big sister. Last year in school she invented her own candy bar and won first prize in the science fair.

We were married on July 8th, 1999 in the Vernal, Utah temple. Kris was born in Seattle, Washington and Julie was born in Ogden, Utah. Julie is working as a nurse at the local hospital and Kris works for a company that blows things up. He always was good with fire!
